Service area checker for your website
A service area checker lets customers type their ZIP code and find out in a second if you come to them. People outside your area can leave their details for later, so you stop getting quote requests you can’t take. Try the demo below.

Start your websiteWhat is a service area checker?
A service area checker is a small box on your website where a customer types their ZIP code. It checks that ZIP against the list of areas you cover and answers right away: yes, you come to them, or not yet. It runs before the customer fills in a form or picks up the phone.
Most home service sites only have a list of towns at the bottom of the page. Customers have to read it, guess whether their street counts, and often just call to ask. The checker gives them a straight answer instead.
How the ZIP code checker works on your site
The customer types their ZIP code, or taps one of the examples. If it’s on your list, they see “Yes!” and the name of the area, and the button takes them to your quote or visit request.
If it isn’t, they see “Not yet” and a button that says “Tell me when you get here.” They leave their name and contact details, and the request comes to you by email with the ZIP code they typed. Each one is saved too, so nothing gets lost in your inbox.
It doesn’t need a map, a location prompt or an outside service. The customer types five digits and the page checks them against your list.
What happens with out-of-area visitors
Without a checker, people outside your area still fill in your quote form. You read it, figure out where they live, and write back to say no. That’s time spent on a job you were never going to do.
With the waitlist, those visitors turn into a list you can use:
- You see which ZIP codes keep asking for you, before you decide where to grow.
- When you expand, you already have people to contact in the new area.
- If you work with a partner who covers other towns, we can point those visitors to them instead.
Setting up your service area: zones and travel fees
We load the checker with the ZIP codes you cover. Send us a list, a spreadsheet or the towns you drive to, and we turn it into the ZIP list. If a few ZIPs only count in part, we can mark them so the customer is told you’ll confirm the address.
You can also split your area into zones. A common setup looks like this:
- Your main area, where the normal price applies.
- An extended area with a travel fee, so the customer knows before they ask.
- Everything else, which goes to the waitlist.
Where to put a service area checker
The home page is the obvious spot, near the top, since “do you come to me?” is often the first question people have. It also works well on each service page and right above your quote form.
It pairs nicely with an instant quote tool. A customer can confirm you serve them, then get a price from something like our lawn mowing quote calculator or house cleaning quote calculator without leaving the page.
It doesn’t replace your service area pages. Those pages help you show up when people search for your service in a town. The checker answers the question for the person who’s already on your site.
A custom service area checker, built into your site
There are plugins and store apps that check ZIP codes, but they look like add-ons and only fit the platform they were made for. We build the checker as part of your site, in your colors and fonts, as part of our web design service.
When you add a new area, tell us and we update the list. See what’s included on our pricing page, or send us the ZIP codes you cover and we’ll tell you how we’d set it up.

Frequently Asked Questions
How the service area checker works on your site.
How do I check if a business services my area?
On a site with a service area checker, you type your ZIP code into the box and get an answer right away. Without one, you look for a service area page or call and ask.
Can the checker use city names as well as ZIP codes?
Yes. We can match ZIP codes, city names or both, whichever your customers are most likely to type.
What if a ZIP code is only partly in my area?
We can mark that ZIP so the customer is told you’ll confirm their address before the job. You make the final call.
Can I charge extra for areas farther away?
Yes. We set up zones, and the checker tells the customer if their area comes with a travel fee.
What happens to out-of-area requests?
The customer leaves their details, and you get them by email with the ZIP code they typed. Each request is saved too.
Does it use a map or track the customer’s location?
No. The customer types their ZIP code. Nothing is tracked and no map service is needed.
Can I change my service area later?
Yes. Tell us which ZIP codes to add or remove and we update the list.
